Tilwara police have arrested three thieves involved in several theft incidents and recovered cash, scooter and equipments used in theft incidents. The arrested accused have been identified as Suraj alias Dau alias Dauwa Gond (19), a resident of Sahajpur in Bhedaghat, Vijay alias Nati (22), a resident of Indrabasti, Sharda Chowk in Garha and Lakhan Lal alias Sahil Patel (18), a resident of Dalpatpur in Bhedaghat. According to Tilwara police, the complaint filed by Saurabh Kumar Mishra (35), his brother Rahul Mishra had locked his house in Arnav Vihar, Tilwara, on March 20 while travelling to Singrauli with family.
 
In the early hours of March 22, Rahul noticed suspicious activity through CCTV alerts. Upon inspection, the house was found broken into, with locks damaged and valuables scattered. Gold and silver jewelry worth approximately Rs 4–5 lakh were reported stolen. Police scanned CCTV footage and activated informants, leading to the detention of three suspects. During interrogation, all three confessed to the burglary and revealed the involvement of another accomplice who conducted reconnaissance and helped dispose of stolen goods.
 
On their identification, police seized cash of Rs 9,000 and a stolen Suzuki Access scooter (earlier stolen from Sanjeevani Nagar) from Suraj. Rs 6,000 cash was recovered from Vijay, believed to be proceeds from selling stolen jewelry and Rs 8,000 cash along with burglary tools such as screwdrivers, rods and iron implements were recovered from Lakhan Lal. Police have launched a search for the absconding accused and are further investigating the accused’s involvement in similar burglaries across Sanjeevani Nagar, Patan, Bhedaghat, Lordganj and Vijay Nagar areas.
