A six-year-old girl was seriously injured after being struck by a sword during a violent clash between two groups in the Indra Vihar locality. Following the incident, CCTV footage has gone viral on social media, showing a mob of over 30 individuals armed with swords and knives. Police have formed two specialised teams to identify and apprehend the suspects who remain at large. Victim caught in the fray:

The victim, identified as Miral Ahmed, daughter of Faizan Ahmed, and a resident of Indra Vihar, was returning home on a motorcycle with her father when they were caught in the middle of a pre-existing dispute between two rival factions. According to the police, the little girl sustained a severe head injury during the melee but is currently reported to be out of danger following medical treatment. Station House Officer (SHO) Umesh Pal Singh Chauhan stated that surveillance footage from the narrow lanes of the colony captured 20 to 30 men engaged in a fierce brawl.

As Faizan tried to manoeuvre his motorcycle through the congested street, the clashing groups began attacking each other with sticks, rods, and swords. During the chaos, a sword intended for an adversary struck Miral on the head. The rioters also vandalised two to three vehicles parked in the vicinity before fleeing the spot. “Based on the CCTV evidence, we have initiated the process of identifying the attackers. Two dedicated teams are conducting raids at various suspected locations. A formal case has been registered, and we are committed to arresting all those involved in this heinous act of public violence,” SHO Chauhan added.
