A 29-year-old man died in a suspected hit-and-run accident under the jurisdiction Tilwara Police Station.
According to Tilwara police, the incident came to light after Ramswaroop Thakur (38), a resident of village Jhiri Pipariya, reported the matter. He informed that his brother, Dhanraj Thakur (29), left home around 4 pm on a Hero Super Splendor (MP-20MQ-6369), informing family members that he was going to the farm. Later in the evening, at around 7:15 pm, Ramswaroop received a phone call from his son Arjun, informing him about the accident.
Upon reaching Jhiri Road, he found his brother lying dead on the road, with the motorcycle severely damaged nearby. In prima facie of the investigation, police expected that an unidentified vehicle hit the motorcycle, leading to critical injuries. Tilwara police have registered a case of accidental death and initiated an investigation to identify the unidentified vehicle and driver.
Field executive robbed of valuables by unidenfied goons
A field executive was looted with cash of Rs 27,800 by unidentified men under the jurisdiction of the Katangi Police Station. According to police, the victim, Hemendra Patel (31), a resident of Samanna village in Damoh district, works with a TVS agency office in Wright Town and is responsible for installment collection in Jabalpur, Belkheda and Majholi areas.
According to the complaint, Hemendra went at village Jhagra to collect an installment from Rajendra Narwad. While speaking with the family, he noticed a few men observing him suspiciously.
After leaving the village around 3:30 pm, three of those men started following him on a motorcycle. About a kilometer ahead on Katangi road, one of them stopped him, requesting petrol on the pretext of his mother’s illness. When Hemendra refused, the men insisted him to stop. Soon, two more men arrived
on another motorcycle. They forcibly dragged him towards roadside bushes and, after a scuffle, snatched his backpack and wallet before fleeing towards Boria village. The stolen items included an HP laptop, charger, documents and Rs 27,800 in cash collected as installments. Police have registered a case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and started an investigation to identify and apprehend the accused.
