Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Devda took part in the State Government’s ‘Jal Ganga Samvardhan Abhiyan’ during his visit to Sanskardhani, on Sunday. He joined public representatives and senior officials in a cleanliness drive at the historic Ranital pond. Devda participated in shramdaan at the site and urged citizens to take a pledge for conservation and restoration of traditional water sources. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy CM said water is the basis of life and reviving traditional water bodies is the need of the hour. He emphasized that water conservation should not be seen as a onetime campaign, but as a continuous social responsibility.
 
Appealing for public participation, Devda called upon citizens to contribute towards keeping rivers, ponds, stepwells and wells clean in their respective areas. He stressed that effective water harvesting and conservation are essential to secure a sustainable future for the coming generations. Giving a call for collective action, he said significant results can be achieved only when people from all sections of society join hands in such efforts. Those also took part in the drive were Mayor Jagat Bahadur Singh, MP Sumitra Balmik, MLA Ashok Rohani, BJP City President Ratnesh Sonkar, Collector Raghavendra Singh, SP Sampat Upadhyay and Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar and others.
