A grand Shobhayatra was taken out in Sanskardhani on the occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti, on Monday. The procession started from Hanumantal Jain Temple, where a decorated palanquin carrying the idol of Lord Mahavir became the centre of attraction. Devotees welcomed the procession at various points by offering flowers. Accompanied by bands, traditional music, horse displays and tableaux, a large number of people participated with devotion. The yatra passed through major city routes including Miloniganj, Kotwali, Kamaniya Gate, Bada Fuhara, Andherdev, Belbagh, Super Market, Malviya Chowk and Lordganj. Social and religious organisations set up stages along the route to welcome participants.
 
Women, children and elderly people joined in large numbers, while refreshments and prasad were distributed at several places. On the occasion, Jain temples across the city were decorated with lights and flowers. Special prayers, abhishek and religious programmes were organised. Women were seen participating in coordinated groups, adding to the grandeur of the celebrations. In the afternoon, a musical abhishek and cultural programmes were held at Fuhara area. The procession remained a major attraction, with devotees performing aarti at various locations. The Mahavir Jayanti celebrations across the city witnessed Thousands of Jain community people participated in Mahavir Jayanti celebrations across the city.
