The illegal private bus parking besides Divisional Commissioner’s office.

Unauthorised activity taking place barely 50 metres from the State-run depot
In a striking case of regulatory violation and administrative oversight, an illegal private bus stand has emerged right in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office near the MSRTC Ganeshpeth bus stand in Nagpur. What makes the situation particularly ironic is that this unauthorised activity is taking place barely 50 metres from the State-run depot, flouting the established rule that prohibits private buses or vehicles from parking within a 200 metres radius of an MSRTC bus stand.
Officials have clarified that the space in question is designated exclusively for two-wheeler parking. However, in blatant disregard of these norms, private bus operators have converted the
area into a de facto boarding and halting point. At any given time, as many as four buses can be seen stationed there, operating as though it were a legitimate and authorised platform. The unchecked parking and movement of these buses have led to frequent traffic congestion on the busy stretch, especially during peak hours. Commuters, office-goers, and pedestrians are forced to navigate through bottlenecks, raising concerns over both the major issues- safety and traffic discipline.
Road leading to ST Stand on verge of choking
The issue has further escalated as private buses, when not in operation, are no longer confined to Agyaram Devi Mandir Road as was previously the case. Instead, they are now being parked indiscriminately along the road from ST Stand Chowk to Model Mill Chowk. With buses lined up on both sides, the effective width of the road has been significantly reduced, worsening vehicular movement and Contd on page 2
