THE swimmers of Aqua Sports Club (ASC), Nagpur brought laurels to the city by excelling in different age group at the 62nd State-Level Sunk Rock Light House to Gateway of India Open Sea Swimming Race held at Mumbai recently.
The annual sea swimming meet was conducted by Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association. More than thousand swimmers from all over Maharashtra took part in the competition in different age groups. In 16-25 years female age group 5km race, Sanjana Joshi finished third with a timing of 43 minutes. In 16-25 years female age group 5km race, Snehal Joshi finished 6th with a timing of 46
minutes.
In 12-13 years female age group 2km race, Vaishnavi Katole finished 5th with a timing of 16 minutes. In 10-11 years male age group 2km race, Rriddhant Gaure finished 5th with a timing of 18 minutes. In 26-45 years male age group 5km race, Viren Adsad finished 10th with a timing of 1 hour 01:18sec.
All the above swimmers are regular members of Aqua Sports Club and train under the able guidance of ASCA Level-5 coach Vishal Chandurkar and senior coach Dr Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS Patiala).
Aqua Sports Club President Mohan Nahatkar, Secretary Mangesh Gadre, Director Midland Sports Prashant Ugemuge, Vice-President Operations Preeti Lanjekar, Manager Operations Ashwin Janbandhu, parents of ASC swimmers and sports lovers congratulated the swimmers for their outstanding performance.
