In a gruesome incident, a man killed a 16-year-old teen by smashing his head with a hammer on Thursday afternoon. The spine-chilling incident was reported in Sammanna village under the jurisdiction of Damoh rural police station area. Eye-witness informed police that after crushing the teen’s head with a hammer, the accused attempted to apply the victim blood to his face and other body parts. A video of this incident has also surfaced on social media. As the accused was carrying a hammer and a rod, none of the villagers dared to go near him as he was attacking them with hammer. Within no time he killed the boy before villagers could rescue him. The deceased has been identified as 16-year-old Bharat Vishwakarma, a resident of Arthkheda village in Imalia police chowky area. The minor had come to Samanna village for Bhai Dooj. The deceased’s cousin, Vijay Vishwakarma, said that on the way home, Gudda Patel, a resident of the same village, suddenly attacked them. The accused struck Bharat on the head with a rod and then struck him 15-20 times with a hammer.

 

Bharat died on the spot due to serious injuries. After committing the crime, the accused, Gudda Patel, fled towards the fields with the hammer in his hand. This incident, which occurred in broad daylight, created panic in the area. Nearby villagers immediately informed the police. On receiving the information, police arrived at the scene. Joining the villagers, they began searching for the accused. The accused had hidden in the fields. The police and villagers surrounded him. The accused tried to intimidate the police and villagers with hammer, rod in his hand, for a while. However, when the accused dropped the weapon, the villagers pelted him with stones and caught him. Police informed that body has been sent for post mortem. After post-mortem, the body will be handed over to the family. Police are investigating the matter. A case of murder has been registered against the accused. Police informed that the accused has previously served a sentence for his wife’s murder. A medical examination is being conducted to assess his mental state. The accused has been arrested and is being interrogated.
