Bhopal’s Ishan Bhatnagar secures AIR-5 in UPSC, Several candidates from Madhya Pradesh feature in merit list

Bringing pride to the city, Bhopal’s Ishan Bhatnagar has secured All India Rank (AIR) 5 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2025, the results of which were declared on Friday. His achievement places him among the top five candidates in the country and makes him the highest-ranked candidate from Madhya Pradesh this year. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results recommending 958 candidates for appointment to various civil services, including the IAS, IPS and other central services. Along with Bhatnagar, another candidate from Madhya Pradesh also featured in the top ten, with Pakshal Secretary (from Dhar district) securing AIR-8. The State also saw several other candidates making it to the merit list.
 
Chitwan Jain from Ashoknagar secured AIR-17, while Rupal Jaiswal from Khandwa obtained AIR-43. Meanwhile, Pooja Soni from Tendukheda in Narsinghpur district, secured AIR-249 in the examination. Another candidate, Devangi Meena from Kumbhraj in Guna district, achieved AIR-236. Bhumika Jain from Satna also made it to the list with AIR-331 and is set to join the Indian Revenue Service. The daughter of a garment businessman from Krishna Nagar, her success has brought celebrations among family members and the local community. The Civil Services Examination is conducted annually in three stages, Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The Preliminary examination was held on May 25, 2025, followed by the Main examination from August 22 to August 31, 2025. The personality tests (interviews) concluded on February 27, 2026, after which the final merit list was released.
