Team of divers managed to find the body of a boy after two days he was reported missing in Bargi Dam, on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Shailesh Nema (27), a resident near Jain Temple in Bargi Nagar. According to Bargi police, Shailesh went at the dam with his friends after celebrating Holi on March 3. While bathing in the dam, he accidentally moved into deeper part of the reservoir and drowned. Divers recovered the body at around 8:30 am on Friday in the presence of Bargi Nagar police. After completing the panchnama proceedings, the body was sent to Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College for post-mortem. Police have registered intimation while further investigation is underway. It may be noted that Shailesh had left home on Wednesday and was playing Holi in Bargi Nagar with his friends Rohan Koirala and Sagar. After spending some time at Bargi Nagar Chowk, the trio decided to go to the dam for a bath. They reached the Zero Point area of Bargi Dam on a motorcycle and entered the water.
According to Rohan Koirala, he was sitting near the edge of the dam while Shailesh went further into the water.
Suddenly Shailesh shouted for saving him. Rohan thought he was joking as Shailesh knew how
to swim. However, within moments he moved into deeper water and started drowning. They also shouted for help when some nearby youth entered the water and tried to rescue Shailesh but failed in saving his life. Bargi Nagar Outpost In-charge Sarita Patel reached the spot with a police team. Local divers and an SDRF team conducted a search operation until Wednesday evening but could not locate the youth. The rescue operation was halted due to darkness. After the two days search operation, divers found the body on Friday morning. During further investigation, it was learnt that the youths had crossed the Zero Point area, where the dam management had already issued warnings not to go beyond the gate due to deep water. Despite this, they moved nearly 40 feet ahead and entered the water.
