PUNJAB National Bank defeated
Shikshak Sahakari Bank (SSB) by
18 runs in the inter-bank B
Division cricket tournament.
Batting first, PNB posted a competitive 196-5 in
20 overs.
Chetan Kale (34) and
Ankit Vishwakarma (19)
added 59 runs in the first
five overs. Captain
Rutupurna Pathak (50)
and Kishore Warudkar (50) then
hit a half-century each to
anchor the innings thus guiding
PNB to a strong total. For SSB,
Sagar Dwivedi (2-19) was the
standout bowler, while Girish
Gadam and Nehal Bhoskar
chipped in with a wicket each.
In reply, Makarand Shete
played a brilliant knock of 88
and tried to keep SSB in the
chase.
However, PNB’s disciplined bowling attack kept
things under control and
restricted SSB to 178-3 in
20 overs. Bhimraj
Chaudhary, (1-35)
Kishore Warudkar, (1-12)
and Sanjay Nikhare (1-
16) picked up a wicket
each.
