A state-level delegation of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and submitted a memorandum highlighting various issues faced by farmers, on Friday. State General Secretary Chandrakant Gaur said the delegation discussed several key issues with the Chief Minister, including procurement at Minimum Support Price (MSP), availability of fertilizers and seeds, electricity supply, irrigation facilities, procurement of urad and moong, crop survey (girdawari), stray cattle problems, canal repairs and revenue-related matters.
In the meeting, farmers’ representatives urged the government to procure wheat at Rs 2700 per quintal, provide four times the market rate as compensation for land acquisition, extend subsidies to cattle-rearing farmers similar to those given
for gaushalas, install docking testing machines and 10-ton
weighing scales in mandis and conduct elections for cooperative societies, mandi boards and water committees.
The delegation also demanded quick resolution of revenue cases, formation of an electricity forum, withdrawal of load increase charges, daytime power supply for farmers, replacement of old power lines, 100% subsidy on solar energy, reduction in GST on agricultural equipment and procurement of all crops at MSP. State General Secretary Prahlad Singh Patel raised the issue of pending payments to farmers from Jabalpur, Katni and Mauganj and demanded early clearance. He also urged quick construction of Narsinghpur agricultural produce market and repair of right and left bank canals. Taking note of the matter, CM directed the Chief Secretary to take necessary action.
