FROM running his first SCMM in 2015 under 4 hours, to pushing boundaries with the 72 km Khardungla Challenge, stepping up to the Ironman 70.3, then the gruelling Full Ironman, trekking all the way to the Everest Base Camp; then taking on the insane Ladakh Silk Route Ultra 122 km to now finishing the 2026 edition of The Hell Race-White Sand Ultra (100 miles/160 kms) in Rann of Kutch with a fine timing of 24:56:41 securing overall 5th position, Nagpur’s young triathlete Dhruv Bhiwapurkar is going strong. The Hell 160km course is a “survival” race setting in 35 degree C heat, high humidity and salt flat conditions.
TheWhite SandUltrais never meant to be “just another race.” The idea was to strip away the city, the excuses, and the comfort and give the participant a pure duel: runner versus desert. No distractions. No mercy. Just the runner and the Rann, trying to decide which is more stubborn. This isn’t just about medals or finishlines—Bhiwapurkar’s journeyisnothingshortofphenomenal...it’saboutrelentless passion, discipline and the courage to chase what seems impossible. Truly an inspiring story of endurance and grit. Son of Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar,Dhruvgivescredit for his success journey to his support system - his wife and family, and his trainer from Bengaluru
