Senior Cong leaders, workers protest againstrising prices of LPG cylinders, electricity, fuel

HUNDEREDS of senior leaders
and workers of City (District)
Congress Committee on Tuesday
submitted a memorandum to
the Collector protesting against
rising prices of cooking gas, electricity, petrol and diesel. They
staged the protest following the
direction of Madhya Pradesh
Congress Committee.
A large number of party workers gathered near Collectorate
and raised issues related to inflation and public hardship. Senior
party leaders said that the common people are already burdened
by rising prices of essential commodities. He stated that the continuous increase in LPG cylinder
prices has disturbed household
budgets, especially for middle
and lower income groups.
They also raised concern over
the steep hike in electricity tariffs,
which has added financial pressure on consumers, small traders
and farmers. The Congressmen
further said that increasing fuel
prices and reports of artificial
shortages of petrol and diesel
have affected transportation and
daily life.
The Congress leaders alleged
that Government policies have
worsened inflation and
demanded immediate reduction in the prices of cooking gas,
electricity and fuel. They urged
the administration to take concrete steps to provide relief to
the public. The senior leaders
also warned of launching a mass
agitation if the issues are not
addressed soon.
Several party leaders, workers and citizens were present
during the protest.
