THE Inter-State Young Legislators’ conference concluded with high-level sessions on parliamentary ethics, five point resolutions and address by veteran leaders, including Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, and Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Tuesday. Legislators from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan attended the conference organised under the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone 6. Highlighting India’s successful approach to deal with worldwide crisis like war in the MiddleEast and Covid pandemic situation, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh said that rates of petroleum products hiked from North America, Europe, West Asia and other neighbouring countries, a few have to cut power supply while others are forced to announce lockdown. Contrary to this, in our country situation is very well. “Due to ongoing situation in Middle-East, situation in other countries is worrisome, but in India supply of crude oil, gas remains unaffected. How India remains unaffected?” stated Rajya Sabha Chairman. “Because country is mitigating the Middle East crisis impacts through various approaches. India has increased crude oil reservoirs, increased domestic LPG production, ethanol building capacity has been increased ensuring minimal disruption to its economy and energy security.
 
Railway electrification has contributed most to reduce dependency on petroleum products. Rural India has adopted digital payment to a greater extent”, he added. Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh addressed the valedictory session as the chief guest. he cited example historical and spiritual figures like Vivekanand, Shri Shankaracharya and Jaiprakash Narayan. “My statements are not confined to politics. we took 66 years to give vision and chalk down roadmap of our country. Development is the only mantra to bring our people residing remotely to the mainstream. If we made progress with this pace, we can fulfill the dream of Viksit Bharat even before 2047.” In his address, Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar urged young leaders to get connected with the people and optimise the utilisation of new media technology.
 
He stated “ a developed India 2047 can only be realised if our young legislators perform their duties with dedication and foresight. They must increase engagement with citizens through digital media, prioritise public communication, take concrete steps in areas such as education, health, and employment, and bring every section of society, especially youth, women, and disadvantaged communities, into the mainstream.” Speaker further said “However, this path also faces many challenges, political pressure, lack of resources, social inequalities, and rapidly changing global circumstances. But strong and dedicated young leadership can transform these challenges into opportunities.” Attendees pledged to opt for inclusive approach of democracy with active participation of citizens, playing effective role between public and administration, work as conscientious citizens following high ethics and spirit of constitution in mind and action. Young Legislators Conference organised under the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association India Region Zone 6, firmly resolve that the active participation of citizens is fundamental to the strengthening of democracy. Therefore, we, the young legislators, will play a crucial role in building a strong and inclusive democracy.
 
Young legislators, representing the new energy, innovation, and transformative mindset of society, pledge to serve as a bridge between the citizens and the administration. By understanding public concerns, we will bring the issues faced by the common people to the floor of the Legislative Assembly and play an active role in formulating transparent, accountable, and publicwelfare-oriented policies, thereby ensuring that democratic institutions remain responsive to the public. Pledge to make continuous and meaningful efforts to raise awareness among citizens and empower them to actively participate in democratic processes. We will play an active role in leveraging technology and innovation to make governance more transparent and effective; in formulating longterm policies in critical sectors such as education, health, employment, and the environment; and in amplifying the voices of the youth, women, and marginalised sections of society. Our aim is to establish effective communication channels between the public and their legislative bodies, thereby ensuring meaningful and participatory governance. As young legislators, remain firmly resolved to work with integrity, commitment, and foresight, even in the face of political pressures, resource constraints, social inequalities, and shifting global dynamics, so that the democratic traditions and values of our nation may become even more deeply rooted and robust.
 
They also resolved to conduct ourselves as conscientious citizens; we will strengthen research and analytical support mechanisms to ensure the effective participation of elected representatives in the debates and discussions held within the legislative bodies. We pledge to play an active role in democratic processes and to support leadership that steers the nation forward towards the vision of a ‘Developed India by 2047’ (Viksit Bharat 2047). Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman to grace finale of Youth MLA Conclave in Bhopal. The Madhya Pradesh is hosting legislative gathering. The conference has brought together nearly under 45 young lawmakers from Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, aims to horn their skills in parliamentary proceedings and dealing with public issues in field. The delegates are travelled to Ujjain to offer prayers at the Mahakaleshwar Temple. The conclave was inaugurated on Monday by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav in presence of MP Assembly Speaker Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajasthan Speaker Vasudev Devnani. On the first day of the session, Chief Minister Dr Yadav emphasised on simplicity, discipline and humility in public life. Work towards nationbuilding keeping objective of Viksit Bharat in mind and action. Leader of Opposition Umang Singhar highlights need for student union elections as the seed of electoral process starts to germinate in young age. State Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya highlighted the collaborative nature of the conference. On the last day of the event, it was asked to share advice and learning of this session in to action when these participants goes to their constituencies and during the assembly sessions in their States.
