African Swine Fever confirmed in Durg

Following the confirmation of African Swine Fever at PO Joy Pig Farm, located in village Mudpar within the Dhamdha Development Block of Durg district, the affected area has been officially declared an ‘Infected Zone’ and a ‘Surveillance Zone.’ A radius of 1 kilometer surrounding the village of Mudpar will constitute the ‘Infected Zone,’ while the area extending from 1 to 10 kilometers will serve as the ‘Surveillance Zone.’ This order shall remain in force for a period of six months or until further orders are issued. Within the 1 to 10-kilometer radius, the villages/localities of Nardha, Mohandi, Okhra, Chetuwa, Kherdhi, Dhaur, Ringni, Murmuda, Kandarka, Semariya, Nandouri, Hingnadih, Godhi, Dhaba, Achhoti, Dadar U, Borsi, Limatra, Murra, Khedamara, Jamul, and Surdung (specifically Ward No 1 to Ward No 5) have been designated as part of the ‘Infected Zone.’
 
According to the order issued by Collector Abhijit Singh, the movement of pig products from the ‘Infected Zone’ is strictly prohibited. Furthermore, within the ‘Surveillance Zone,’ markets and shops dealing in pigs and related products shall remain completely closed, and any door-to-door delivery services provided by them are also suspended. No citizen within the district shall spread any kind of rumor through any medium whatsoever. Any individual found violating the aforementioned prohibitory orders shall face penal action under the ‘Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’, the ‘Prevention and Control of Infectious and Contagious Diseases in Animals Act, 2009’, and other relevant legal provisions.
