NASHIK teams registered commanding victories in the both men and women categories on Day Two of the 56th Maharashtra State Volleyball Championship underway at the Anand Nagar Sports Association Ground, on Friday. Nashik defeated Nagpur 2-0. The first set between Nashik and Nagpur eves went to a tie-breaker which Nashik won 26-24. Nashik women pipped the hosts taking the second 25-22.

 

In the men’s category, Nashik defeated Beed 25-21, 25-22. Thane boys beat Solapur 25-22, 29-27 by a close margin. Yavatmal women made light work of Jalna 25-9, 25-5 and did not let them score in double digits. Results Women’s Category: Thane bt Jalna 25-7, 25-11; Raigad bt Buldhana 25-4, 25-16; Dharashiv bt Gondia 25-14, 25-16; Pune bt Yavatmal 25-5, 25-14; Solapur bt Chandrapur 25-11, 25-21.
