CITY’S Samiksha Singh, along with seven others stormed into the final of the Under-17 National Boxing Championships for Boys and Girls underway on MLA Hostel premises on Friday. Southpaw Samiksha threw beautiful punches and dodged a couple of blows to defeat Himachal Pradesh’s Harshita 5-0 via a unanimous decision in her feather weight (57kg) bout. Samiksha will face Services Sports Control Board’s Navya in the summit clash on Sunday. Navya overcame the challenge from Sakshi of Rajasthan 5-0. In boys section, Yugal Khote of Nagpur went down to Rajasthan’s Pradeep 4-1 via split decision in their 63kg category fight.
 
Haryana’s Gaurav prevailed over Punjab’s Arman 5-0 in the same category. Other matches in favour of Maharashtra: Girls: Avantika bt Rajasthan’s Priyanshi 4:1 (light fly 48kg); Ovi beat Chandigarh’s Shine 5-0 (fly 50 kg); Mamata bt SSCB’s Reet 5-0 ( light bantam 52kg); Shanaya bt Delhi’s Yashika 4-1 (light weight 60kg). Boys: Sanskar bt UP’s Adarsh 3-2 (pin weight 44-46kg); Gopal bt Arunachal’s Kenli 5-0 (light bantamweight 52kg).
