A day-long division level seminar was on Saturday organized by the Chhattisgarh State Judicial Academy (CSJA) at Principal District Court, Durg. 120 judicial officers from five civil districts of Durg division participated in the seminar which was inaugurated by Chief Justice (CJ) of Chhattisgarh High Court, Ramesh Sinha. Justice Rajni Dubey and Ravindra Kumar Agrawal were also present on the occasion. In his address, Chief Justice laid stress on importance of new criminal laws terming them a revolutionary step towards modernization of justice system which includes technical progress and encourages victim focused approach.
 
He encouraged judicial officers to develop clear and practical understanding towards the same. On topics selected for the seminar he said that they are of practical importance which reflect day to day challenges faced by lower courts. He elaborated on growing importance of electronic evidences and held discussions on their admissibility. He said that judiciary’s real power lies in its efficiency, impartiality and its unwavering commitment towards justice.
 
At the outset, Principal District Judge of Durg delivered the welcome speech and stressed on the importance of exchanging judicial education and thoughts. Director (CSJA) Nidhi Sharma Tiwari gave introductory speech and told about objectives of the seminar. CJ also released mediation strategy model publication titled Mediation 2.0 IAISAGR. Meanwhile during the seminar, the judicial officers gave presentations on various important legal topics. A refresher course for effective implementation of new criminal laws and increasing efficiency of judicial officers was also conducted for acquainting them with changes brought by the new laws. Registrar General of High Court and registry officers also remained present in the seminar.
