JDSF celebrates Intl Sports

THE JD Sports Foundation (JDSF) concluded their celebration’s of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on April 6 at the National Institute of Swimming, Manewada-Besa Road. The event was themed as ‘Sports: Building Bridges, Breaking Barriers’ for the day which is celebrated globally since 2013. Olympian and Dronacharya award winner Vijay Munishwar and Dr Jaiprakash Duble, former Joint Director of Sports, Government of Maharashtra were the guests for the event.
 
Munishwar said that sports play a significant role in creating harmony and peace among different cultures and traditions. He also shared his experiences from six Olympics where he represented India. Dr Duble said that sports can bridge gaps between countries and cultures. During the event, swimmers who achieved laurels in various competitions, were honoured. Shivchhatrapati Awardee Jayant Duble proposed a vote of thanks. Sports personalities, players, and parents attended the function.
