Staff Reporter :
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has declared Class X results on Wednesday. With the CBSE conducting the examination twice, most students are likely to take the second exams to improve their scores. It may be recalled that the papers of Maths and Science were particularly tough on the students this summer exam. The second examination is their chance to improve their scores.
To ease the pressure for better performance, this time, the CBSE is conducting two examinations. If students feel that their score of the first examination is low, then they can reappear a second time.
This ofcourse is not compulsary and is only for those who want another chance. The second exam is likely to be held after 15-20 days.
The students have been given five days’ time to apply for second examination. Those who feel they can improve their score will take a chance which doesn’t carry any risk. Students can get their marksheet on-line for the first examination. They will get the hard copy of the marksheet after the declaration of result of second examination.
CBSE has not declared the timetable of second examination which can likely be after 15 days and the results may to be out in last week of May.
Suppose a student failed in first examination or passed with grace marks, then he or she will reappear in second examination. If the student clears the second examination, then he or she will be declared as pass, despite his or her failure in first examination, as the CBSE is considering the best of two. If another student scores 90 per cent in first examination and he or she secures 80 per cent in second examination, then his or her higher score will be counted.
