Madhya Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has announced class 10 and 12 results for 2026, which revealed a major shift in the State’s education landscape. While class 12 result shows improvement, class 10 outcome highlights concerns at foundational level.
Girls have outperformed boys across both levels and Government schools have surpassed private institutions. The most striking trend is district-wise performance, where rural and tribal regions have outshined major cities, clearly indicating a transformation in how academic success is being achieved across Madhya Pradesh.
According to the data, class 10 pass percentage stands at 73.42%, while class 12 has recorded a higher pass percentage of 76.01%, indicating improvement at higher secondary level but weakness at foundational stage. One of the most significant highlights is consistent dominance of girls. In both class 10 and class 12, girls have outperformed boys by a clear margin.
While girls achieved around 77% in class 10 and nearly 79% in class 12, boys remained significantly behind.
Another major shift is seen in school-wise performance. Government schools have outperformed private schools in both categories. In class 12, Government schools recorded over 80% pass percentage, while private institutions remained around 70%. This trend challenges long-standing perception that private schools provide better education.
District-wise performance has emerged as the most surprising aspect of results. Smaller and tribal districts such as Anuppur, Alirajpur, Jhabua and Narsinghpur secured top positions, whereas major urban centers like Bhopal, Indore and Jabalpur delivered average or below-average performance, indicating that discipline and consistency are outweighing infrastructure advantages.
On the other hand districts like Datia, Bhind and Morena continued to rank at the bottom, highlighting regional disparities. Large number of failed students in both class 10 and class 12 raised serious questions about effectiveness of education system at ground level.
