To reduce man-animal conflict in Vidarbha’s forest, researchers from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) have come up with a unique invention to reduce the conflict, specially, in forest areas. Dr Sanjay Janrao Dhoble, Head of the Department, Department of Physics, RTMNU; and Dr Amit Ramesh Bansod, Professor, Department of Physics, Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar College have invented an aluminium cage for humans, which will help to restrict wildlife attack when the person is working in agriculture field or resting under any tree.

According to researchers, the aluminium cage releases sound which can scare away wild animals before attacking any person. The cage is made up of mesh and it is tied tightly on the head of the farmer or labourer and it hangs on the back like a bag. It has eight speakers and a stand. Just by pulling a hook, the cage comes around the person who is wearing it. After holding the hook at the bottom, the person can sit, at the same time, different loud sounds from the speaker will help the person to keep leopard or tiger away. This research has received a design registration certificate from the Patent Office of the Government of India.
