CHHATTISGARH continues to
experience intense summer conditions, with dry weather prevailing across State, according to
the Meteorological Centre,
Raipur. The weather report indicates no rainfall activity in the
past 24 hours, while temperatures remain significantly above
normal.
Raipur recorded a maximum
temperature of 42.8°C, which is
3.4 degrees above normal, while
the minimum temperature stood
at 29.2°C, also 4.2 degrees higher than average. The highest temperature in the state was recorded at 44.0°C in Rajnandgaon,
whereas the lowest minimum
temperature was observed at
21.0°C in Ambikapur.
Other cities
such as Bilaspur, Durg, Jagdalpur
and Pendra Road also reported
high temperatures, indicating
widespread heat conditions.
Humidity levels remained low,
with 32 percent recorded in the
morning and 25 per cent in the
evening. Wind speed was around
2 kmph, and the sky remained
mostly clear, contributing to rising heat discomfort.
The weather department has
warned that heatwave conditions are likely to occur in isolated pockets of Bilaspur, Raipur
and Durg divisions over the next
two days. However, no major
change in maximum temperatures is expected during this period. For Raipur city, the forecast
for April 18 suggests a mainly
clear sky, with maximum and
minimum temperatures likely to
remain around 43°C and 27°C
respectively. Authorities have
advised residents to take precautions, avoid exposure to
extreme heat and stay hydrated
during the ongoing heatwave
conditions
