WITH an aim of promoting
kabaddi and providing a platform for emerging players from
various districts in Maharashtra,
a state-level kabaddi tournament will be organised from
April 30 at Sevanand Vidyalaya
Ground near Koradi Mata
Temple in Koradi.
The tournament will be organised under the initiative of
Maharashtra Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis and Revenue
Minister Chandrashekhar
Bawankule.
The bhoomipujan ceremony
of the ground where the tournament will be played was held
recently.
The ceremony was attended
by Minister of State for Finance,
Planning, Agriculture, Relief and
Rehabilitation, Law and
Judiciary, and Labour, Ashish
Jaiswal; Nagpur Mayor Neeta
Thakre; President of Nagpur
Rural Kabaddi Association
Sanket Bawankule; Mahadula
Nagar Panchayat President
Hemlata Saoji; District Sports

Speaking on the occasion,
Jaiswal said that organising sucha grand kabaddi tournament inKoradi area under the initiative
of Chief Minister Fadnavis andMaharashtra Revenue Minister
Bawankule is a matter of pride
for Vidarbha.
He added that the tournament
will provide a significant platform for kabaddi players and assured full support for the
tournament.
Mayor Thakre also extendedher best wishes and stated that
efforts will be made to boost
sports activities in the city. She
further assured that the municipal sports department would be
provided with necessary sports
equipment.
The event was anchored by
NMC Sports Officer Dr PiyushAmbulkar, while Dhatrak proposed a vote of thanks.
