32nd Orange City Craft Mela showcases Kabir Gayan inclusive folk performances

South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) organised performances of Kabir Gayan and folk dances of Maharashtra at the 32nd Orange City Craft Mela and Folk Dance Festival on April 1. The programme began with Kabir Gayan by singer Mukesh Chauhan from Madhya Pradesh. He was accompanied by Dilip Chauhan, Manoj Ghodawat, Guru Charan, Sohan Bhat, and Ankit Malvi. The concluding presentation featured folk dances of Maharashtra by Dr Sanvi Jethwani.
 
Performances were delivered by artists Vaishali Kakde, Avantika Jaybhay, Anita Nandedkar, Ruhi Petkar, Gauri Kadam, Shahiri Nanubhau Parihar, Gajanan Kakde, and singers Seema and Shubhra Patil. Artists performing Kachchi Ghodi from Rajasthan also attracted the audience. From April 2 to April 5, the mela will feature folk performances including Siddi Dhamal by Altaf Maqsood Siddi from Gujarat, Lal Angi Ger by Tagga Ram from Rajasthan, Mathuri Dance by Neeraj Kumar from Telangana, Shankh Vadan and Ranappa by Trilochan Sahu from Odisha, Dholu Kunitha by Parashuram P S from Karnataka, Chhau Dance by Kartik Kumar from West Bengal, and Boro Dance by Pranjit Basumatari from Assam.
