PCR of four accused extended to April 27

Amravati, Several shocking details continue to emerge in the Paratwada sexual exploitation and objectionable video circulation case, as police intensify their investigation. The custody of Ayan Ahmed, the main accused, along with three others, has been extended till April 27 to facilitate further inquiry. A key focus of the investigation is the source of funds that enabled the accused to maintain an extravagant lifestyle despite having no visible income. Ayand Ahmed, who is 19-year-old, had built a significant presence on social media, particularly on Instagram, where he had around 18,000 followers (which now increased upto 24,000 post case).

Though enrolled in a college in the Melghat region, officials say his academic involvement was minimal, with most of his time reportedly spent creating reels. Police suspect that he used social media platforms to establish contact with several minor girls. During the course of these interactions, he allegedly recorded objectionable videos and images. The matter came to light after one of his associates reportedly shared such content online. Investigators are also examining how Ahmed funded his lifestyle, which included frequent visits to expensive hotels, spending on acquaintances and use of high-end mobile phones. According to preliminary findings, Ahmed allegedly resorted to stealing gold ornaments from his own home, including his mother’s jewellery, and selling them to meet his expenses. Police are also probing whether he used the recorded videos to blackmail victims for money or other favours. The case has also drawn attention to a viral video showing Ahmed inside a black Thar vehicle along with multiple i-Phones. Police inquiries revealed that the vehicle belongs to Rajesh Prajapati, a resident of Paratwada. His son, Aryan Prajapati, told investigators that he came into contact with Ahmed through the OLX platform during a mobile phone transaction. Ahmed had introduced himself as a reel creator and requested permission to shoot a video with the vehicle. Aryan stated that he allowed him to do so due to their acquaintance.

He further clarified that the pistol seen in the video was not a real firearm but an air gun typically used to scare animals in agricultural fields. Police have recorded statements in this regard. With their custody extended, officers aim to piece together the full extent of the alleged activities and establish accountability in what has become a high-profile case in the region.

Accused paraded; Part of strategy to recover key evidence, say cops

An unusual police operation in Paratwada town drew widespread public attention after the main accused in an alleged video scandal, Ayan Ahmed, was escorted through local streets under tight security on Wednesday. Police officials later clarified that the move was not a public display but part of a strategic effort to recover a mobile phone crucial to the investigation. As per details, the device had changed hands before the operation. Ahmed had allegedly sold the phone to an acquaintance identified as Noman. Acting on this lead, investigators traced and recovered the device during the operation. Police believe the seized mobile phone may contain vital digital evidence, including videos, communication records and data trails that could help establish how the alleged content was created and circulated. Sources said that even deleted or hidden data could play a key role in the investigation.
