A purified cold drinking water machine was inaugurated at Super Speciality Hospital, Nagpur, by Vidarbha Seva Samiti with support from the Bhutada family on Wednesday.
The facility has been installed in the memory of late Dilip Bhutada in the hospital premises to benefit patients, their relatives and visitors, especially during the summer.
The programme was presided over by Virendra Chandak, President, Maheshwari Panchayat, Nagpur. Chetna Tank, former Corporator, emphasised that providing water to the thirsty and food to the needy is the highest form of social service. Swapnil Ahirkar, Vice-President, Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce, urged citizens to come forward for such noble causes, while Rajesh Bhutada conveyed his gratitude and best wishes.
Dr Santosh Modi, Working President, Vidarbha Seva Samiti, informed that the organisation has installed five drinking water units and one mortuary facility in the past year. Anand Birman, President of the Samiti, reiterated its commitment to continued public welfare initiatives.
Among those present were Dr Raj Gajbhiye, Dean, Government Medical College and Super Speciality Hospital, Nagpur; Dr Sushma Thakre, Special Duty Officer; Dr Shailesh Gahukar, Hospital Administrator; Jyotitai Devghare, Corporator, among others.
The programme was conducted by Prashant Manekar Jain, Joint Secretary, coordinated by Sanjay Samrit, and concluded with a vote of thanks by Purushottam Bhosale. Several office-bearers and volunteers of the Samiti were also present.
