CITY’S talented athlete Janhvi Hirudkar bagged a bronze medal in the 24th Federation Cup National Junior Athletics Championship for U-20 boys and girls to be held at the Mahatma Gandhi Stadium, Tumkur, Karnataka on Saturday, informs Nagpur District Athletics Association Secretary Dr Sharad Suryawanshi. Representing Maharashtra, Janhvi won bronze in 1500m event clocking 4 minutes 38.39 seconds. Gold went to Radha Yadav of Madhya Pradesh. Snehal Kharat of Sangli won silver. Janhvi is a student of Hindu Girls School and trains under Ashfaq Sheikh. Pranay Upase and Harshal Joge will run the 800m race on Sunday while Abhishek Bawne is participating in the 3000m steeplechase race.
