TEAM Playwell, led by father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar, along with brothers Neeraj and Sanjeev Kumra, emerged champions in the duplicate bridge event organised by Vidarbha Bridge Association at its Shankar Nagar Sports Complex on Sunday. The victory came in a 36-deal contest played across six rounds of six boards each. Playwell secured top honours with a commanding tally of 76.86 VP, taking home the winners’ purse. Finishing a close second was Team Spartans with 66.94 VP.

 

Spartans comprised S Watwe, J Kanoria, A Das, V Patki and S Khanzode. In match point pairs event, duo of H Bhave and A Das claimed the championship in 22-deals contest. Archana Dhanwate and R Pande secured the runners-up position. Amit Rewatkar was the tournament director.
