SUJAL Dhurve has been named skipper of Nagpur Orange City that will be participating in the inaugural edition of the Maharashtra Junior Volleyball League to be held at Nerul Gymkhana, Mumbai from April 17-19.
The three-day event will witness eight boys teams in Under-18 age group and five girls teams in U-21 group fighting for supremacy.
Boys teams are divided in two groups — Group A: Nagpur Orange City, Beed Aman Fighters, Latur Lions, Mumbai Kings and Group B: Kolhapur Royals, Puneri Chavas, Amba Tigers, Palghar Patriots.
Apart from Nagpur Super Queens, the other girls teams in fray are Phoenix, Panthers, Ace Girls and Net Divas.
The trophy was unveiled at volleyball courts of Samarth Vyayam Shala at Rana Pratap Nagar on Thursday evening.
Nagpur Municipal Corporation Sports Officer Dr Piyush Ambulkar, Corporator Ashwini Jichkar, Shiv Chhatrapati awardee volleyball players Anjali Chorghade and Aruna Arve; team owner Abhilash Dangre, international volleyball coach Nilesh Matte, senior player Anjali Bokade and Anil Sawarkar were prominently present on the
occasion.
Sunil Hande conducted the proceedings and proposed a vote of thanks.
