By Dr William Timothy :
ON THIS solemn and sacred day of Good Friday, we pause amidst the hustle of our daily lives to reflect on one of the most profound moments in human history—the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Today, Christians across the world commemorate the ultimate sacrifice of love, compassion, and redemption that continues to inspire billions. Good Friday reminds us that even in the darkest hours, hope is never truly extinguished. As Jesus hung on the cross, enduring unimaginable pain and suffering, He taught humanity the power of forgiveness with His words: “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” In a world often divided by hatred, conflict, and intolerance, this message of unconditional love and forgiveness remains as relevant and revolutionary today as it was two thousand years ago.
For Church, (all denomination) Good Friday carries a special significance.
As custodians of truth, voices of the voiceless, and chroniclers of our times, we are called to uphold the same values that Jesus embodied—truth, justice, mercy, and empathy. In an era where news cycles move at lightning speed and sensationalism sometimes overshadows substance, Good Friday urges us to reflect on our responsibility to report with integrity, fairness, and sensitivity. This day teaches us that real strength lies not in power or dominance, but in sacrifice and service. Jesus’ journey to Calvary was marked by betrayal, denial, and abandonment, yet He chose the path of love over hatred, humility over pride, and redemption over revenge.
As Bible preacher and teachers, we too often witness stories of human suffering, injustice, and resilience. May this Good Friday inspire us to approach our work with greater compassion, to amplify voices that need to be heard, and to shine light on truths that matter?
In the midst of global challenges—be it conflict, inequality, environmental crises, or social divisions—Good Friday offers a powerful reminder that suffering can lead to transformation.
The cross, once a symbol of torture and shame, became the ultimate symbol of hope and salvation. Similarly, the stories we cover, no matter how difficult, have the potential to bring about positive change when told with honesty and purpose.
As we observe this holy day, let us remember the lessons of sacrifice, forgiveness, and resurrection that follow. Let our reporting be guided by ethical conviction, our words tempered with kindness, and our pursuit of truth rooted in a deep sense of humanity.
On behalf of Logos Bible Study Centre, we extend our heartfelt wishes to all our readers, colleagues, and their families. May the spirit of Good Friday fill your hearts with peace, strengthen your soul to do good, and renew your faith in the triumph of light over darkness.
May this Good Friday bring blessings of hope, healing, and harmony to our nation and the world?
Wishing you a meaningful and blessed Good Friday.
