NAGPUR boys team won all their three league games to emerge as pool toppers and qualify for the pre-quarterfinals of the Maharashtra State Junior (U-18) Basketball Championship currently underway in Nashik.
In the girls section, Nagpur outplayed Thane in their last league match to secure
their place in the pre-quarterfinals.
In their last league match, Nagpur boys recorded a close four-point (83-79) win over Mumbai South East.
In the first quarter Nagpur boys took a slender three points lead. In the next quarter, Mumbai South East boys regrouped well to nullify the lead as the scores read 41 each at the half-time.
In the third quarter, Mumbai boys took one point lead but Nagpur boys responded brilliantly in the final session to pocket the match.
Deep Bhandarkar was superb scoring 27 points for the winners.

17-17).
