An accused who defrauded victim of Rs 56 lakh under the pretext of arranging a kidney transplant, was arrested by City Kotwali Police from Harda District. Under the direction of Rewa SP Shailendra Singh Chauhan; under the guidance of ASP, Rewa, Aarti Singh, and CSP (Kotwali), Rajiv Pathak; and through the efforts of the SHO, Kotwali Rewa, Shringresh Singh Rajput, along with Kotwali team, an accused was arrested for defrauding a victim of Rs 56 lakh under the guise of arranging a kidney. On March 20, 2026, complainant, Dilip Kumar Soni (son of Shri Vishwas Soni, (40), a resident of Ashok Nagar, Tarhati, Ward No. 31, Police Station Kotwali, Rewa), lodged a report at City Kotwali Police Station, Rewa. In his report, he stated that in August 2025, his wife’s health suddenly deteriorated; during her subsequent treatment at a hospital, doctors diagnosed her with kidney disease and advised that she should undergo a kidney transplant. During this period, complainant was introduced to Priyanshu Pawar (alias Ayush Pawar).

Assuring the complainant that a kidney transplant could be arranged at Bansal Hospital, Bhopal, the accused—Priyanshu Pawar (alias Ayush Pawar)—instructed the complainant to transfer funds online into various bank accounts at different times over the past five months, amounting to a total of Rs 56 lakh. As Priyanshu Pawar continued to demand money incessantly, complainant finally realised that he had been duped of Rs 56 lakh under the pretext of arranging a kidney transplant. Under the guidance of senior officials, a special team was formed at the Kotwali Police Station, Rewa, to trace the accused. Accused Priyanshu Pawar was arrested in Harda district and produced before the court. He has been remanded to police custody for one day. Interrogation in this matter is currently on.
