While going through Mr Vijay Phanshikar’s article on dechoking of trees and serial killing of precious lakes, I felt how much you and we all are concerned about the issue. Those who are supposed to take action on it are least bothered. Still, some action is being taken by the authorities concerned to dechok the trees and clean the lakes. I was happy to know about the progress and started dreaming...
“Taking cognisance from the news, suddenly all authorities have started working on warfooting to dechoke the trees.
Excellent landscaping along the roadside with tree plantation is adding to the beauty of city. Where there was excessive concretisation roadside, it was deconcretised and replaced by amazing lamp post, colourful park benches with beautiful flooring and greenery in between. Lakes infested by eichhornia have now been cleaned up. Citizens enjoying clean and clear water, boating and water sports. Futala lake got facelift with working musical fountain. Youngsters enjoying evening there with neat and clean local food stalls. Naag river got cleaned with fresh water flowing and decorated river bank areas. City roads without diversions and any civil work going on. Traffic is smooth with no jams and congestion. Pedestrians using footpaths which are free of enchoachments.
All government authorities, political leaderships and citizens working in coordination to keep Nagpur clean and green. It is possible with everyone’s efforts. Nagpur is becoming role model for other cities. Some TV news flashed Nagpur is best city to live.”
Come off thoughts! Is it really possible?
Maybe if civic officials, political leaders and public participate, then Nagpur can be transformed into best city of the country.
