DIVYANSHI Raghorte, representing Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, won twin bronze medals in the All India University Kayaking and Canoeing Competition being held at Krishna River Sangli.
The four-day event, hosted by at Shivaji University, Kolhapur, runs till April 8.
On the opening day, Divyanshi opened varsity’s account by claiming a bronze medal in the kayak singles 1000m category. The university team also performed strongly on the second day of the competition. Divyanshi won another bronze medal in the kayak singles 500m category.
In the canoe doubles category, Leena Nagalwade and Apeksha Hazare reached the final round and secured fourth position. In the kayak doubles 500m category, Divyanshi and Vaishnavi Ajabale reached the final round and RTMNU is hoping for another medal from them.
In the men’s category, following players have made it to the semi-finals: Lucky Hazare in kayak singles 500m, Lucky and Karan Shende in kayak doubles 500m and Shriwant Shende in canoe single 500m.
Dr Romi Bisht and Avinash Nimbharte are the coaches while Dr Chandramohan Singh is the manager.
