THE men and women karate teams of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) will be participating in the All India Inter-University Karate Championship to be organised at Dibrugarh University, Assam.
Vice-Chancellor Dr Manali Kshirsagar has arranged flights for both the teams, informs a varsity press release
In the individual kata category, Manas Raut from GH Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur; in the kata team, Manish Barvekar from Jhulelal Institute of Technology Nagpur, Akshat Dharamthok from KDK College of Engineering and Ayush Patharabe from Shri Nashikrao Tirpude College of Physical Education are included.
The individual kumite category includes Hrithik Mudaliar (75 kg) from Physical Education College, Koradi; Achal Bokde (45 kg) from Dr LD Bhalkhande Arts and Commerce College, Pawani; Kritika Rathod (55 kg) from GH Raisoni College of Engineering and Management; Payal Deepak Kore (61 kg) from Mahila Mahavidyalaya; Gayatri Awasare (68 kg) from Nagarjuna Institute of Engineering Technology and Management; Kajal Yellane (+68 kg) from Ishwar Deshmukh Physical Education College.
Vaidehi Shende is women’s coach and Jagdish Mankar is men’s coach. Dr Zakir Khan will be travelling with teams as manager. Dr Kshirsagar, Registrar Dr Raju Hiwase, Finance and Accounts Officer Harish Paliwal and Director of the Physical Education Department Dr Sambhaji Bhosale have wished the teams good luck.
The team is enthusiastically prepared for this competition and is expecting excellent performance, the release adds.
