In a significant step towards strengthening public healthcare with modern technology, Immunohistochemistry (IHC) facility was inaugurated at Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College, on Wednesday.
Installed at Multi-Disciplinary Research Unit (MDRU), this advanced diagnostic setup is believed to be the first of its kind in any government medical college in Madhya Pradesh.
The facility was formally inaugurated by Dean Prof. Navneet Saxena in presence of senior officials and medical experts, including Superintendent Dr Arvind Sharma, Dr Avdhesh, Dr Jitendra Gupta, Dr Ranu, Dr Ruchir, Dr Richa and Dr Lakshmi.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Sanjay Kumar Yadav, a Breast Surgical Oncologist, emphasized the critical importance of this facility, especially for breast cancer patients who often reach hospitals at advanced stages of the disease.
He explained that IHC technology plays a vital role in accurate diagnosis, selection of targeted therapies and determining prognosis, making it a game-changer in cancer care.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Saxena expressed pride in the institution’s achievement, stating that patients will now have access to advanced diagnostic services locally, eliminating the need to travel to
metropolitan cities. He appreciated the dedication and efforts of Dr Sanjay Yadav and his team in making the project a reality. The successful establishment of the facility was made possible through the efforts of the MDRU team, including Dr Ruchi Khare, Dr Shubham Nema, Dr Ankit Verma, Ms. Shruti, and Ms. Deepika. Besides this, Department of Pathology, led by Dr Ranu Tiwari Mishra, played a crucial role in providing technical coordination to complete this challenging
project.
