RSS chief released manuscript on ‘RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Ghosh Pathak’

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Dr Mohan Bhagwat, on Wednesday, said Sangh has been built on the discipline, selflessness and hard work of its Swayamsevaks aiming for nation building. Dr Bhagwat made this statement during the manuscript ‘RSS Nagpur Mahanagar Ghosh Pathak’ release programme held at Smruti Mandir premises in Reshimbag on Wednesday evening. ‘Swayamsevaks’ lead ordinary lives, but often reach extraordinary heights through their actions, all while striving for the upliftment of society,” said Dr Bhagwat. ‘Ghosh Pathak’ was started by our ancestors with an objective of instilling discipline and foster a sense of national pride among Swayamsevaks.

It was designed to enhance the organised appearance of the Sangh during marches, utilising traditional and brass instruments to foster unity and morale, said Dr Bhagwat. While speaking about ‘Ghosh Pathak’, Dr Bhagwat said, “Swayamsevaks come from different backgrounds. They hardly get a chance to practice on regular basis. But, in few events, where our Ghosh Pathak performed, they were appreciated by well-known musicians and singers.” Whenever they practice, they practice with motivation and with full devotion. Whenever Swayamsevaks get time, they do it with full devotion, said Dr Bhagwat. “This event is not a celebration. It was planned to express and display Sangh’s tradition since last 100 years. This manuscript is a milestone, which will encourage future Swayamsevaks and young generation of India,” said Dr Bhagwat.

The manuscript was compiled with a specific objective of documenting history of RSS Nagpur Mahanagar ‘Ghosh Pathak’ operations. The event commenced with RSS flag-hoisting. A short film on the history of ‘Ghosh Pathak’ was screened in which it explained the initial bands and how former Sarsanghchalaks emphasised to evolve this ‘Ghosh Pathak’ tradition in RSS. Today, Ghosh Pathak is an important part of every event of RSS and every member of the band volunteers to be a part of the Pathak. The major attraction of the event was a 45-minute-long ‘Ghosh Pathak’ presentation by Swayamsevaks, which was appreciated by the audience.

‘Ghosh’ musicians presented different compositions during the occasion. The Pathak used instruments like the clarinet, flute, drums and trumpet to play patriotic, invigorating tunes. Deepak Tamshettiwar, Vidarbha Prant Sanghchalak; Shridhar Gadge, Vidarbha Prant Sahasanghachalak; and Rajesh Loya, Mahanagar Sanghachalak also shared the dais during the event. Shantakka, Pramukh Sanchalika, Rashtriya Sevika Samiti; Sunil Kulkarni and other dignitaries were also present during the event.
