Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Thursday conducted an inspection of wheat procurement centers at Katargaon in Khargone district and Makodi in Shajapur district. Taking a major decision in the interest of farmers, the Chief Minister announced that the deadline for wheat procurement in the state has been extended from May 9 to May 23. He categorically stated that the Government is committed to purchasing every single grain of the farmers’ produce, and if necessary, this period will be extended further. During the inspection at Katargaon, Dr Mohan Yadav personally oversaw the procurement of 55 quintals of wheat from farmer Suresh Patidar. He ensured the online generation of the receipt on the e-Uparjan portal and handed over the payment acknowledgement of Rs 1,44,374 to the farmer. The Chief Minister issued strict instructions to the Collector and Mandi Secretary to ensure at least 6 weighing scales remain operational at each center to prevent delays. He also directed the rigorous implementation of the new wheat procurement standards issued today. In Makodi, Shajapur, Dr Mohan Yadav climbed onto a tractor-trolley to interact with farmers and assess the quality of the crop. He instructed officials to maintain a continuous supply of gunny bags (bardana), sewing machines, computers, and operators. Given the intense heat, he emphasised providing adequate shade, cold drinking water, and proper seating arrangements at the centers. At Katargaon, he shared tea with farmer Bhagirath Malviya and other cattle rearers to gather feedback on the arrangements. Minister Inder Singh Parmar, MLA Rajkumar Mev, and other senior officials were present during the inspection.

Crime Branch dismantles arms syndicate; 8 held a series of raids at multiple locations, including TT Nagar, Khatlapura Road, Karishma Park, and Lalghati. The co-ordinated raids led to the arrest of seven additional suspects: Mohammad Aman (24), Mohammad Mustafa (20), Talib Khan (19), Arshan Khan (21), Sarfaraz Pathan (26), and Gufran (23). Police confirmed that many of the arrested individuals are habitual offenders with prior records of assault and serious crimes. Specifically, Aman, Mustafa and Gufran have multiple cases registered against them at various police stations. All eight accused have been booked under Section 25(1-A) of the Arms Act. During questioning, they confessed to supplying illegal weapons to various criminal elements within the city.

To ensure a strict deterrent, authorities are also considering proceedings under Section 107 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) to attach the properties of the accused. Further investigations are underway to map the entire network and identify other potential buyers in the syndicate. Bhojshala complex registered as mosque in old revenue records: Muslim side to HC mosque or its related properties, officials such as the Sajjadanashin and Mutawalli (person entrusted with management, maintenance, and administration of a Waqf), and their descendants, not only have the right to intervene, but also have the right to manage and use such a structure. Citing provisions of the Ancient Monuments Preservation Act 1904, the Muslim side’s lawyer said the term in-charge of the property is used in this law, which makes it clear that the person or party who has been in charge of a property for a long time has rights over it. During the hearing, Touseef Warsi, the lawyer representing the Maulana Kamaluddin Welfare Society of Dhar, claimed that Hindu parties in both PILs had made "misleading representations" regarding historical facts before the high court.

He further claimed that available historical sources do not clearly mention the existence of a Saraswati temple established by Raja Bhoj, the legendary king of the Parmar dynasty who ruled Dhar from 1010 to 1055. The ASI, a Central Government agency, has adopted three different positions in the lawsuits filed regarding the Bhojshala dispute, changing its answers from time to time, and this situation raises serious questions about judicial scrutiny of the complex, Warsi submitted. He raised objections regarding the ASI's process of scientific survey of the Bhojshala complex, carried out on the HC order in 2024, and the method of videography and requested the court to examine these objections. The hearing in the Bhojshala case will continue on Thursday. The HC has been regularly hearing four petitions and one writ appeal since April 6, contesting the religious nature of the monument.
