Three people were killed and two others were injured in a tragic road accident occurred at around 5 am on Thursday near village of Sadi under the jurisdiction of Badwara Police Station in Katni district. A speeding Hywa dumper collided with a car approaching from the opposite direction.
In this horrific collision, three occupants of the car died on-the-spot, while one of the two critically injured succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital.
The injured is undergoing treatment at District Hospital in Katni where his condition remains critical. According to reports, members of Raghuvanshi family—residents of Sagoria in Narsinghpur district—had travelled to Pipariya Kala Khirhani, Barhi to attend a wedding ceremony.
After the marriage at around 2 am, five family members—Anil Raghuvanshi, Rakesh Raghuvanshi, Arun Raghuvanshi, Abhishek Raghuvanshi, and Gajendra Raghuvanshi, left by car to Narsinghpur.
Bhairav Singh Raghuvanshi, a relative of the deceased, stated that as their car approached Basadi intersection, driver of a dumper truck (MP 50H1383) coming from the opposite direction, was driving the vehicle recklessly in high speed. He then crashed directly into the car. The impact of the collision was so severe that the car was completely mangled.
In this accident, Anil, Rakesh and Arun Raghuvanshi succumbed to their injuries at the scene. On receiving information about the incident, Badwara Police immediately rushed to the site. After much effort, police personnel managed to take out the injured and the bodies trapped inside the wreckage of the car. Abhishek and Gajendra were immediately rushed to District Hospital. Unfortunately, Abhishek succumbed to the injuries on the way to the hospital.
Police have taken custody of the bodies and prepared a panchnama, registered a case of accidental death and started an investigation into the matter.
The dumper driver reportedly fled the scene following the accident and a search for the accused is underway.
