TOP Seed Anvi Dongarkar will lock horns with second seed Sejal Thadani in the Under-17 girls singles final of the ongoing Yonex-Sunrise GH Raisoni Memorial Nagpur District Summer Amateur Badminton Tournament under way at RTMNU’S Subhedar Hall in Ravi Nagar. In the semi-finals, Anvi got the better of Avani Peshkar 21-18, 17-21, 23-21 while Sejal ousted Diya Alwani 18-21, 21-19, 21-16. Meanwhile in men’s singles, Aayush Durgpurohit, Ravi Jaiswal, Kabir Awale andTanmay Gawande made it to the semifinals.

 

In the women’s singles category, Asawari Bhalerao and Sneha Sahasrabuddhe and Sansktiri Siriah made it to the last four on the penultimate day of the competition. In the quarter-finals, Sneha was lucky to get a bye while Sanskriti defeated Sharvari Rasekar 21-9, 21-7 to move into the semis. Asawari Bhalerao quelled the challenge from Sayali Khandekar 21-12, 21-9 to book semis spot. In the men’s category, Kabir Awale ousted Gulshan Pahade 21-15, 21-8 and Durgpurphit beatYadnyesh Bhakre 21-13, 21- 13 to enter the last four. Similarly, Ravi Jaiswal defeated Rishi Kanta 21-10, 21-19 and Gawande beat Ojas Jainabadkar 21-12, 21-9 to complete the semis line-up. In Under-9 boys singles, Shaurya Chitlange defeated Shaurya Mudliar 21-4 21-6 and Ayansh Karare ousted Kiaan Wahi 21-16, 21-11 to enter semis.
