After several days of rising temperature, weather has taken a welcome turn, bringing much needed relief to people of Sanskardhani. For the past few days, a pattern of cloudy mornings, intense afternoon sun and strong winds with rain in the evening has been witnessed across the region. This trend continued on Saturday as well. The city woke up to thick dark clouds in the morning, followed by scorching heat in the afternoon. However, by 3 pm, strong winds and light showers swept through the city, bringing the temperature down and providing needed relief to residents. Spokesperson of the weather department informed that two trough lines are currently passing through the middle of Madhya Pradesh and a cyclonic circulation is active over the upper region. These weather systems are responsible for the ongoing spell of dust storms and rain across the state.

On Saturday, districts including Jabalpur, Seoni, Chhindwara, Raisen, Sagar, Damoh, Balaghat, Bhopal, Dewas, Khargone, Narsinghpur and Mandla experienced light rainfall accompanied by strong winds. The weather department stated that this year, the weather has been unusual right from the first day of May. While the month typically begins with intense heat, this time several parts of the state have witnessed heavy dust storms, rain and even hailstorms. The unseasonal weather has been credited to a combination of cyclonic circulation, trough lines and western disturbance. The weather department has meanwhile issued a forecast of light thunderstorms with lightning over Jabalpur and adjoining areas in the next 24 hours. Residents are advised to remain cautious.
