In a tragic accident, a patient was killed and three others, including his brother, were critically injured and several bus passengers sustained partial injuries when a speeding passenger bus rammed into an ambulance near Khairi village under the jurisdiction of Patan police station, on Saturday evening. The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Patel (25), a resident of Nauni village in Shahpura while condition of his elder brother Rajesh Patel (28), ambulance driver Sudesh Sen and attender Sarika Khatke is reported to be critical undergoing treatment at the hospital. SHO of Patan police station, Gopindra Singh Rajput informed that receiving the information of a road accident near Khairi village, police team reached the spot and started rescuing the passengers from bus and ambulance.
 
The passengers were rushed to hospital where one of the injured was declared brought dead and condition of three injured is reported to be critical. In further investigation, a speeding passenger bus numbered AP-11D-7775 travelling from Jabalpur to Ahmedabad collided head-on with an ambulance near Patan at around 4:30 pm. The impact of the collision was so severe that the ambulance was completely damaged. According to deceased Saurabh’s brother, Sudesh Sen informed that they had earlier met with an accident. A Dial 108 ambulance had been called to transport him to Patan Hospital, and Saurabh was accompanying his injured brother in the ambulance when the collision occurred.
