According to Bargi police, on March 22, 2026, complainant Chhotelal Jhariya (45), a resident of Mankedi village under Bargi Nagar outpost, informed police that he works as a labourer and tractor driver for Narhar Patel. On the morning of March 22, Chhotelal and worker Dhaniram Jhariya went to an old quarters building near the Field Rest House to load bricks into a tractor. While both men were working on opposite sides of the structure, a wall of the dilapidated building suddenly collapsed.
Dhaniram got trapped under the debris and sustained severe injuries to his face and legs. Chhotelal and others pulled him out and took him home in a tractor. Family members called an ambulance, but Dhaniram died before medical help could arrive.
During the investigation, police recorded statements of the deceased’s family members and eyewitnesses. The investigation revealed that Dhaniram and Chhotelal was sent to the site around 8 am by Narhar Patel, who is employed in the Irrigation Department, to remove bricks from the old building and load
them into a tractor. Police found that the work was being carried out in an extremely old and unsafe structure without any safety arrangements or protective equipment. Investigators concluded that the wall collapse and subsequent death occurred due to negligence while getting the demolition work done. Based on the findings, Bargi police registered a case against accused Narhar Patel under Section 106A of BNS and started further investigation.
