Parallel-road construction from True Value to Beltarodi is on.

Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat is banking on a key infrastructure project aimed at decongesting road network in one of the faster growing suburbs by providing a shorter route connectivity for travelling from Besa to Beltarodi. On the back of rapid urbanisation, the current narrow main roads, particularly, from Beltarodi to Manish Nagar and T-junction at Besa, right now witness daily jams, particularly during peak, morning, afternoon and evening hours. For citizens, it becomes frustrating to negotiate a way out and hence, about two years back, the alternative route was thought of.
The Nagar Panchayat officials have taken up an alternate connectivity that would start adjacent to True Value Showroom on Besa Road, and open directly onto Beltarodi Road.
This way, people may soon get major relief from the daily traffic congestion. Once opened, the narrow patch from True Value till Mahakali Nagar might lead to daily congestion as road width is quite narrow as current volume of daily travellers itself is quite huge. In future, the Panchayat may need to widen the road to ensure smooth flow.
The project, sanctioned in October 2025, is currently around 70 per cent complete. The road stretches from the True Value car showroom and passes through Mahakali slum upto Beltarodi cremation ground area.
Two tunnels are also part of the by-pass project and they were required since one has to cross the Pohra river that bisects Besa and Beltarodi. Once opened, the new road would ease pressure at Besa T-point, providing significant advantage for citizens.
Bharat Nandanwar, Chief Officer (CO), Besa-Pipla Nagar Panchayat, talking to ‘The Hitavada’, stated that, the project has been planned as an important alternative route to reduce pressure on the existing Besa-Beltarodi road, that is bursting at the seams. Also, nearby internal routes that regularly witness traffic bottleneck during the peak hours, would also benefit once this new DP road is completed.
The project is being executed under the Transfer of Developmental Rights (TDR) under which no direct monetary payment was made for acquiring the required land for laying the new DP road. According to official data, the population base of the overall Besa-Pipla region stood at around 10,600 as per 2011 census.
Despite concerns among residents over the project, authorities clarified that, the work is progressing steadily and several major portions have already been completed. The upcoming road will include drainage lines, cement concrete roads, paver block footpaths, dividers and streetlights. A drainage provision connected to the nearest nullah has also been incorporated to prevent water logging during monsoon.
Two important bridges are also part of the connectivity network linked to this route. One bridge behind the Haldiram outlet on Besa Road connects to the Sampada Society to Beltarodi Road, while another bridge links Beltarodi Gaothan near the cremation ground near School of Scholars (SoS) Road and further towards Godrej Properties. Once completed, the alternative road is expected to ease congestion on the Besa to Ghogli road to the Besa-Beltarodi stretch, and provide shorter route for commuters travelling towards Gotal Panjri, SoS and the backside of the police station.
