ALL-ROUNDER Anas Malik
Khan produced an excellent
performance with bat and ball
to help Royal Cricket
Association (RCA) registered a
24 runs win over Ruby Sporting
Club in the Super League match
of the ongoing Thunderbird
Under-13 Cricket Tournament.
Opting to bat first at RCA’s
Mecosabagh ground, the home
team was in deep trouble with
half of their side back in pavilion with 40 runs on the board in
10 overs.
Anas held the fort from one
end and carried his bat through
hitting a responsible knock of
an unbeaten 67 from 60 deliveries as RCA managed to post
127-9 in 25 overs.
Anas’ knock was laced with
14 boundaries to all parts of the
field.
He was instrumental in three
valuable partnerships with
Pakhi Godi (27 runs for sixth
wicket), with Kiyan Godbole (30
runs for 8th wicket) and of
another 30 runs with Aahan
Wadhwani for the 9th wicket.
Defending the target, RCA
restricted Ruby Sporting at 108
for 8 in 25 overs.
Kavin Gidwani was the most
successful bowler for RCA with
three wickets while Anas and
Wadhwani took two each.
Ansh Yergulwar tried hard to
save Ruby with a fighting
unbeaten 44 from 57 deliveries
but ran out of partners.
In another match at SFS
College ground, Mahi Cricket
Academy defeated KCC Saoner
by 10 wickets.
KCC Saoner could manage 73
in 19.5 overs after opting to bat
first. Captain Himanshu Dhoke
top scored with 17 runs.
For Mahi Academy, skipper
Anshul Bahal took five wickets
for 10 runs in 4.5 overs.
Usman Sheikh and Mohd
Shahid Raza Ansari took two
each.
In reply, Mahi Academy
knocked off the desired runs in
11.5 overs with any dent.
Anushree Patil (18*) and S
Shende (45*) put up 74 runs for
the opening wicket.
At Gurunanak Pharmacy
ground, SBCT ‘A’ thrashed
Mujumdar Cricket Academy by
84 runs.
Owais Musa hit a fine 93 as
SBCT scored 203-2 in 25 overs.
Kapish Shende played a captain’s knock of unbeaten 57
runs.
In reply, Mujumdar Cricket
Academy could score 119-5 in
25 overs.
Captain Shourya Itankar
scored highest unbeaten 55 for
Mujumdar.
