Parents and staff have expressed concern over the delay in the joining of the new Principal at Delhi Public School, Bhilai. The school is currently being managed by an in-charge Principal, who belongs to the same institution and has been deputed by the School Management Committee (SMC). The delay in the appointment has created anxiety and administrative uncertainty among parents. Such situations, particularly during crucial phases of the academic session, often raise concerns about leadership stability and possible policy changes. An unexpected delay in leadership transition can disrupt academic activities and cause inconvenience to students and parents.
There is growing discussion among parents that the new Principal, V N N K Seshadri, has sought a six-month extension due to pending formalities with his previous institution. As a result, the in-charge Principal, A H Zunjani, is likely to continue overseeing the school until December.
Some parents have also pointed out that the former Principal has not yet vacated the Principal’s bungalow and is reportedly continuing on extension granted by the SMC. They question how the new Principal can assume charge without the official residence being vacated.
Additionally, concerns have been raised regarding the remuneration offered to the new Principal. It is being stated that the outgoing Principal was drawing a salary of over 3.5 lakh per month, which is significantly higher than the package offered to the incoming Principal.
According to these discussions, differences over emoluments may have contributed to the delay in joining. Another section of parents believes that awareness of certain controversies related to the previous tenure may have made the new Principal hesitant to take charge. These speculations have further heightened anxiety among parents, while faculty members are also reportedly concerned about the prolonged uncertainty. Meanwhile, when The Hitavada contacted the Manager of the SMC and GM, BSP, Amulya Priyadarshi, he stated that consensus could not be reached on certain aspects of the emoluments. “We are yet to receive acceptance or refusal of the offer made by us. After receiving communication, we will decide the further course of action,” he said.
