Voting for the Madhya Pradesh State Bar Council elections concluded peacefully across Madhya Pradesh, on Tuesday. Thousands of advocates participated in the voting, which ran from 10 am to 5 pm. The State Bar Council elections this time were already in the news due to several controversies. The final list of candidates included 122 names. About 87,441 advocates cast their votes at 244 polling stations across the State. Counting of votes will begin on June 16, after which the new State Bar Council will be formed. As many as 98 men and 24 women candidates are trying their luck in the election field in the State. Elections are being held for a total of 25 members including 18 men members and five women members of the State Bar.
 
Two women members are to be nominated. In which 98 men candidates and 24 women candidates are participating in the election. Election Officer Justice S K Palo and Senior Advocate Naman Nagarath along with others are keeping a close eye on the entire process. It may be noted that the nomination process was completed after the formal notification. A total of 122 candidates are in the fray, who will select 25 members. Two women members are to be nominated. Earlier, on Thursday, voting centres were set up in the South Block of the Madhya Pradesh High Court and the District Court premises. Baring some petty issues, the voting process by and large concluded peacefully. However, it is learnt the supporters of two candidates held heated exchange of words during the voting process. After intervention of senior members, the issue was redressed immediately.
