The results of Class 12 examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been declared on Wednesday with over 85 per cent candidates clearing the exams this year. Girls again outshone boys by registering excellent performance. In Nagpur, Commerce student scored highest per cent marks among all three streams--Science, Commerce and Humanities. Atharva Lahoti of Bhavan’s BVM, Civil Lines scored 98.4%, who is probable topper in Commerce in city. In Humanities, Vidhi Tiwari of Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar stood probable topper by scoring 97.4 per cent marks. Ajara Siras of Bhavan’s Srikrishna Nagar secured probable second top position in Humanities by scoring 97.2%.
Probable toppers in Science are Mrunmayee Meshram of St Paul School and Hitee Agrawal of Centre Point School, Wardhaman Nagar who both scored 97%.
The results show that the overall pass rate dipped by over
3 percentage points compared to the last year. This year, CBSE had also introduced a change in the result evaluation process. The Board introduced On-Screen Marking (OSM) system. Instead of checking results manually, the evaluators are able to check the answer sheet on-screen. Apart from this, having knowledge of CBSE grace marks policy 2026 is also necessary. Under OSM, teachers can check copies remotely from their schools. The system automatically calculates totals, reducing manual errors.
